I was a professional footballer whose career ended at 21. Since then I've built an award-winning gym chain and lost it to liquidation, built another business and had to walk away, and survived an illness that paralysed half my face. And underneath it all, I carried a childhood story so heavy it took me twenty-five years to tell — which I finally did at 40, on national television. Every time life knocked me down, I rebuilt. Now I coach people who feel lost or stuck, and I speak in rooms from UK boardrooms to the FBI Academy at Quantico.
I've tested all of them the hard way.
Nobody wakes up "lost". It drifts in — the job that ended, the identity that quietly expired, the Sunday-night dread that became every night. By the time you name it, you've usually been carrying it for years.
I spent years trying to out-think the fog. What works is smaller and less glamorous: honest stock-taking, one deliberate action, then another. Momentum first — clarity follows movement, not the other way round.
Every rebuild I've done started at a dead end: the dole queue, a hospital bed, a finish line I had no right to reach. Stuck is not the end of your story. Handled right, it's the chapter where it turns.
The Happiness Score is the tool I’ve used on myself for over a decade — ten areas of life, scored and ranked in ten minutes, giving you a score out of 100. Because everyone knows what feeling 100% means, and almost nobody’s there. It measures the gap between what matters most to you and how it’s actually going — and that gap is exactly where you’re stuck. Most people are surprised. Some are shocked. All of them know more than they did ten minutes earlier.
For people who feel lost or stuck — in work, in life, in themselves. Including founders whose business and identity have become the same thing. Not therapy, not a pep talk: clarity about what you actually want next, and a plan you'll actually follow. Built on MOVE — the four-part method I built from my own rebuilds — and a life that's been rebuilt for real.
How coaching works →The talk audiences describe the same way every time: you could hear a pin drop. A true story of surviving the worst and rebuilding anyway — for conferences, companies, universities and safeguarding events.
Book me to speak →"Your story and the challenges you have overcome are a true testament to human resilience… we received only high praise for having you share your story. You clearly enhanced our conference greatly."
"His story and presentation skills had the greatest impact that we have ever had at one of our conferences — you could literally hear a pin drop the whole way through."
"Engaging to the point of complete and utter silence from his audience — something I have never experienced running events with speakers over the past 15 years."

Everything on this site comes from a life that's been lost and rebuilt for real — more than once. If you're somewhere in your own version of that, start with ten minutes of honesty.
